The Tiger Woods Foundation was established in 1996 by Tiger Woods and his father Earl to empower young people to reach their highest potential by initiating and supporting community-based programs that promote the health, education and welfare of all of America's children.

TWF started reaching out to young people primarily through junior golf clinics and a national grant program. From these efforts evolved fundraising events such as the Target World Challenge and Tiger Jam.
The Foundation has grown to include participation in Target House at St. Jude Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.; the Start Something character development program created through our partnership with Target Stores; and the construction and development of the Tiger Woods Learning Center, an educational facility located in Anaheim, Calif.
Tiger and Earl started the Foundation based on the belief that we all have the responsibility to help young people achieve their dreams. With the help of many friends and supporters, the Foundation has reached out to millions of children across the country. |

Tom Watson, Bruce Edwards, Jeff Julian and the ALS Therapy Development Foundation are pleased to announce Driving 4 Life, a fundraising campaign in support of research into a treatment and a cure for ALS.
|
As caddy for Hall of Fame golfer Tom Watson, Bruce Edwards has seen it all: 35 victories on the PGA TOUR including Watson's memorable pitch on the 17th hole at Pebble Beach in 1982. Over the past 3 decades, Bruce and Tom have forged a close relationship and were often called the best golfer-caddy team on the TOUR. But nothing could prepare their friendship for the devastating news they received in January of 2003. Bruce was diagnosed with ALS.
In the middle of the 2001 season, Jeff Julian was experiencing fatigue and slurred speech. He and his wife Kimberly visited specialists for three months to determine the cause of his symptoms. On October 8, 2001, Jeff was diagnosed with ALS. After losing his TOUR card, and failing to qualify for the 2002 season, Jeff and Kimberly decided to make a difference, using sponsor's exemptions to continue playing golf and raise awareness for ALS research.
The "Driving4Life" tartan is derived from the WATSON clan tartan, and can be ordered plain, or with the Driving4Life.org name on the image. (Please specify when ordering in the Special Instructions section of the shopping cart.) |

Cristie Kerr founded Birdies for Breast Cancer in 2004, after her mother, Linda, was diagnosed with the disease in 2003. |
Happily, Cristie's Mom is a survivor, but the experience made Cristie determined to make a difference in the lives of women living with breast cancer, like her Mom. In its inaugural year, Birdies For Breast Cancer raised $50,000 for The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, through a unique pledge-based program that was embraced by hundreds of Cristie's fans, who made pledges of various amounts to BCRF for every birdie that Cristie made during her golfing season. Many corporations, including Cristie's sponsor, Mutual of Omaha, made generous pledges and matching gifts. |

Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation -
For more than 20 years, the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation has been a global leader in the fight against breast cancer through its support of innovative research and community-based outreach programs. Working through a network of U.S. and international Affiliates and events like the Komen Race for the Cure®, the Komen Foundation is fighting to eradicate breast cancer as a life-threatening disease by funding research grants and supporting education, screening and treatment projects in communities around the world.
|
|
The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation was founded on a promise made between two sisters – Susan Goodman Komen and Nancy Goodman Brinker. Suzy was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1978, a time when little was known about the disease and it was rarely discussed in public. Before she died at the age of 36, Suzy asked her sister to do everything possible to bring an end to breast cancer. Nancy kept her promise by establishing the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation in 1982 in Suzy's memory. |

To help upcoming professional golfer D'Rae Ward, 77% of the net proceeds of ALL County Donegal tartans ordered in 2007 will be contributed to help defray D'Rae's tour expenses. |
We happened across professional golfer D'Rae Ward's story, and we admire her creativity and initiative.
You can read more about D'Rae's story here, and her proposed options are listed here.
Her resourcefulness resulted in sponsorship that she obtained via an eBay listing.
We can imagine how difficult it would be to pursue your dreams on the professional golf tour, and since we don't have the golf game to make it professionally, we wanted to do something to help her out for the remainder of the 2007 season.
This being 2007, and our lucky number being 23, we would like to keep 23% and donate 77% of the net proceeds of ALL County Donegal Artans(TM) to help defray D'Rae's tour expenses.
If your surname is Blake, Boyle, Campbell, Doherty, Duffy, Gallagher, Hayes, Kelly, Ross, Sweeney or Ward, (plus about fifty others shown here), or you just like the County Donegal tartan; for every County Donegal Artan(TM) sold in 2007, (either personalized for you or just the tartan design), 77% of the net proceeds will be contributed to help defray the expenses of Duramed Futures Tour player D'Rae Ward. D'Rae is attempting to play her way back onto the LPGA Tour, where she played in 2006, and TartanGolfGrips.com is excited to help her in her quest. Read more here... |

The Tom Burnett Family Foundation -
On September 11, 2001, Thomas E. Burnett Jr. became an American hero.
On the same morning of the terror attacks on New York's World Trade Center and the Pentagon, the plane on which Burnett was a passenger was hijacked. He called his wife Deena from the plan several times, telling her, “We have to do something. I'm putting a plan together.” Later he said, “We're waiting until we get over a rural area. We're going to take back the airplane.”
|
Tom and a handful of fellow passengers accosted the hijackers, causing United Flight 93 to crash into a Pennsylvania field, rather than into another American landmark. All on board were killed, but no one on land perished. Tom died a hero and will be remembered the way he lived his life each day – with character, faith, courage, leadership, spirit, and integrity.
The Tom Burnett Family Foundation was established to honor his life and his leadership by educating young people to be good citizens and our nation's leaders of tomorrow. Through the growth of the Tom Burnett Foundation, “we're going to do something.”
